Democrats are using President Trump's comments about Charlottesville, VA, to convince black voters that the president is a white supremacist sympathizer.
 
To keep race issues in the news, Democrats are demanding that Confederate statues be removed from cities and parks. 
 
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is demanding Confederate statues must be removed from the Capitol and claimed Trump supports white supremacists. 
 
Pelosi did not push for the removal of Confederate statues when Democrats controlled Congress and the White House. 
 
The constant news about Trump and white supremacy is keeping emotions high in the black community and contributed to a state senator in Missouri to hope for Trump's assassination. 
 
Democrats hope the white supremacist branding of Trump will keep emotions high and motivate black voters to turn out in the 2018 elections.
